We hope you can join us for the sixth session of our event series “Global mobility – A legal & tax journey for private clients” on 11 March 2024. This comprehensive series is particularly tailored to the needs and interests of private clients with regard to income tax, inheritance tax, and gift tax.
On 11 March we'll be looking at the tax framework for moving to France. We'll explore the criteria for establishing a place of residence in France, the applicable tax rates, the consequences of moving to France for succession planning, and the nuances of French wealth tax.
Our speakers:
Dr Tanja Schienke-Ohletz advises clients on cross-border inheritance tax planning and on the cross-border relocation of high-net-worth private clients. In addition, she deals with the legal and tax aspects of domestic and foreign family foundations and estates, offering insights into the German perspective on structures such as the Anglo-American trust. In particular, she advises clients on cross-border wealth and succession planning in a Franco-German context.
Jérôme Barré TEP (Avocat à la Cour, Yards Avocats) advises and assists individuals in national and cross-border environments. More specifically, he is involved in asset transfer and restructuring operations, for individuals and also for family-owned companies. His experience in banking and insurance sectors, as well as in M&A and public offerings, gives him a broad and pragmatic legal and tax background. He is a partner at the Paris law firm Yards Avocats and is a frequent speaker on French law at international conferences.
The event takes place from 18:00-19:00.
