Internship, research assistance, legal clerkship

Your first career step: Join us as an intern, a research assistant or a legal clerk

Would you like a taste of tax and business law advisory at the highest level? And to sample the stimulating interdisciplinary teamwork at FGS? Your first step could be to join us as an intern on a work placement. You can then continue on your path to success as a research assistant or a legal clerk.

Interns

Take a look behind the scenes at Flick Gocke Schaumburg.

As an intern, you’ll experience at first-hand what interdisciplinary advisory in tax and business law looks like. For law and economics students, we offer paid work placements at all of our offices throughout the year. You can apply at any time.

For above-average law and economics students from the fourth semester on, we also offer a six-week structured internship program at any of our offices. The program includes:

  • Induction and closing events
  • Active participation in client work
  • One-to-one supervision with experienced tutors
  • Workshops and case studies
  • Presentations on legal, business and career topics
  • English tuition
  • Social events

Research assistants

Gain practical experience alongside your undergraduate or postgraduate studies. As a research assistant, you’ll support a team by working on client projects and engaging in interdisciplinary teamwork. You’ll also be able to benefit from the FGS Academy program and various social events, enabling you to expand your network. And if you have any questions on building your career or on your ideas for a thesis, we’ll be happy to help.

Legal clerks

A legal clerkship is a great option once you’ve completed the first state examination. With us, you’ll learn from leading experts in the fields of law, tax and auditing and can use your clerkship as a springboard to a fulfilling career. To help you advance your potential, we offer a comprehensive in-house course to help you prepare for the second state examination.

Keep in Touch (KIT)

We’d love to stay in touch with you after you’ve completed your time with us as an intern, research assistant or legal clerk. That’s where our Keep in Touch (KIT) program is ideal. At our annual KIT get-togethers, you can catch up with your peers, expand your network – and find out if there’s a suitable position for you at FGS.
