JUVE Tax Handbook 2021: Flick Gocke Schaumburg achieves top ranking

The new JUVE Tax Handbook for 2021 has once more named Flick Gocke Schaumburg as the front runner for tax advice in Germany. The firm achieved the highest rating with five stars (tier 1) in four categories: business taxation (tax structuring and project advice), criminal tax law, tax disputes, and high-net-worth individuals and not-for-profit organizations.

The JUVE editorial team explains: “In business taxation advice, the firm continues to be the gold standard.” On criminal tax law, JUVE states that Flick Gocke Schaumburg “(...) has one of the largest practice groups in this field, working hand in hand with the indisputably highly regarded tax law practice group. As a result, the firm is able to cover more ground than almost all of its competitors.” On the top ranking in the tax disputes category, JUVE says: “There is no doubt that this tax-focused firm is right at the top of the tax dispute market.” In addition: “The firm remains unchallenged when it comes to advising high-net-worth individuals and families, working continuously to cement its position.”

Flick Gocke Schaumburg also received excellent ratings in six other categories. It was awarded four stars (tier 2) in transaction taxes (tax structuring advice), VAT and transfer pricing, and three stars (tier 3) in financial taxes, business taxation (tax structuring and/or long-term client relationships) and transaction taxes (contractual tax arrangements).

The Tax Handbook rankings are based on extensive research. Over the last 12 months, legal publisher JUVE has been in contact with almost 3,300 advisors, clients and public authorities and has written to almost 1,400 clients asking about their own experiences with their advisors.
