Flick Gocke Schaumburg has been elected “Tax Law Firm of the Year” at the JUVE Awards 2011.  JUVE, the publisher and provider of legal information, conferred its coveted awards at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt yesterday evening. Partner Professor Thomas Rödder accepted the award on behalf of the whole firm.

The jury paid tribute, in particular, to the qualitative growth of FGS in taking on three lateral entrants of considerable renown in the past few months and in appointing three more equity partners from its own ranks. In its laudation, JUVE commented that FGS had shown even the most skeptical observer that, by recruiting a leading VAT specialist, Dr. Ulrich Grünwald, the firm was capable of growing strategically. Moreover, the jury highlighted the outstanding position of FGS as long-standing consultants to numerous DAX-listed companies.

“The close connection between legal and tax advice has always been the particular hallmark of Flick Gocke Schaumburg.  We are delighted to receive the JUVE Tax Law Firm of the Year award this year in recognition of our successful work in this field as we continue to broaden and deepen our practical expertise,” says Professor Rödder.

Flick Gocke Schaumburg has been regarded as one of the market leaders in tax law in Germany for many years. The partnership, which JUVE also elected “Law Firm of the Year Succession / Private Wealth / Foundations” in 2010, has 74 partners (of whom 36 are equity partners) and over 160 associates. From its offices in Bonn, Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich, the firm advises clients such as corporate groups, family-owned businesses as well as small and medium-sized entities on national and international tax law and in the areas of corporate law / M&A, accounting law, succession / private wealth / foundations, law of tax-exempt organizations, tax crime / white-collar and regulatory matters, tax compliance and auditing / business valuation.
