Flick Gocke Schaumburg opens an office in Stuttgart

Flick Gocke Schaumburg is set to open an office in Stuttgart at the end of May 2019. Partner Jesco Idler and associated partner Dr Sven Kluge will be moving from Bonn to Stuttgart to establish the firm’s seventh office in Germany. Further advisors from the Bonn office, including partners Dr Karsten Randt, Dr Jörg Schauf, Dr Holger Dietrich and Dr Jens Eggenberger, will be working temporarily in Stuttgart.

“Stuttgart is at the heart of one of the leading business regions in Germany, and we already have many clients in the area,” says Prof Dr Thomas Rödder, Chairman of Flick Gocke Schaumburg. “A physical presence in the region will help us to deepen relations with our clients and open up new growth opportunities.”

As of 1 May 2019, Marc Bareither joined Flick Gocke Schaumburg as an associated partner in Stuttgart. He specializes in tax disputes and tax criminal law, and also assists with the implementation of tax compliance management systems. In 2018, Marc Bareither had moved from EY to the KPMG Stuttgart office, where he was latterly Head of Tax Litigation and Tax Controversy.

The Flick Gocke Schaumburg team in the capital of Baden-Wurttemberg will be focusing on corporate tax, tax criminal law, indirect tax and corporate/M&A. Jesco Idler specializes in compliance and risk management; he has long-standing experience of leading internal audits to investigate white-collar crime and tax offenses. Sven Kluge advises primarily on international tax law and transfer pricing. Karsten Randt and Jörg Schauf are experts for tax criminal law and white-collar crime matters. Holger Dietrich focuses on corporate tax and reorganizations, while Jens Eggenberger specializes in corporate/M&A.
