Flick Gocke Schaumburg is continuing to expand its tax technology team with the arrival of a new expert: Dirk Schuster, who joined the firm on May 1, 2022. Schuster is the second prominent new arrival this year for the FGS Digital GmbH subsidiary, which operates at the interface of tax and IT.

He follows Holger Maier, who joined Flick Gocke Schaumburg as Managing Director of FGS Digital GmbH on March 1, 2022.
Schuster was previously at Deloitte, where from 2017 onwards he developed the fields of digital tax processes and VAT-related data analyses, and drove innovation projects related to fully automated data processing and preparation methods. Starting in 2018, he led a team of business economists, business informatics specialists and data scientists as a manager and later senior manager, using cutting-edge technology to solve client-specific, VAT and business management problems.

Schuster is an authorized signatory (Prokurist) of FGS Digital GmbH. Based in Berlin, he will further expand Flick Gocke Schaumburg’s tax-centred digitalization advisory services together with Holger Maier (Stuttgart) and Dr. Bernhard Liekenbrock (Bonn). With his expertise in distributed ledger technology and cryptocurrencies, Schuster will also support Flick Gocke Schaumburg’s crypto team and develop customized automation and data analysis solutions for clients.

“Dirk Schuster is not only a top expert, but also an advisor and leader,” comments Dr. Bernhard Liekenbrock. “He has held responsibility for advising clients in our strategic tax technology fields for many years. We are delighted he has chosen us and sees professional perspectives at Flick Gocke Schaumburg. There are not many advisors in Germany who can match his level and his experience. In particular, his extensive knowledge of mass data analysis and blockchain technology will bring us a decisive step forward in client engagements and innovation projects.”
Schuster specializes in electronic tax audits and cash audits, data analysis to quantify tax risks – including VAT risks – for multinational corporations in various industries, and the automation of tax return processes. He designs and implements innovation projects related to the use of new technologies (robotics process automation, machine learning, cloud computing and blockchain).<<<
