Flick Gocke Schaumburg expands private client practice: Prof Dr Andreas Söffing and team join from SJ Berwin

Flick Gocke Schaumburg expands their practice area of succession, private wealth and foundations with the arrival of Prof Dr Andreas Söffing. As of 1 October Andreas Söffing will join Flick Gocke Schaumburg form SJ Berwin together with two associates. Based in Frankfurt he will further develop the private client practice of the firm together with FGS partner Dr Christian von Oertzen.

Andreas Söffing is one of the leading experts for private client advice in Germany. His client base includes family businesses, high-net worth individuals, private banks and family offices. In particular he advises on succession planning, structuring of private and corporate property, the purchase of companies and the acquisition and sale of shares, emigration and immigration planning as well as taxation issues in various asset classes.

Prof Dr Thomas Rödder, chairman of the assembly of partners, says: “The relevance of succession issues will further increase in the coming years. Andreas Söffing is qualified as Diplom-Kaufmann and tax consultant. Since 2008 he lectures as honorary professor at Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg. He had worked for SJ Berwin since 1993, since 1995 as a partner.
