Flick Gocke Schaumburg advises Vattenfall on the sale of 49% of shares in Nordlicht offshore wind farms to BASF

Flick Gocke Schaumburg has advised Vattenfall on the sale of 49 percent of the shares in the Nordlicht 1 and 2 wind farm projects to BASF.

The two Nordlicht sites developed and constructed by Vattenfall are located in the German North Sea around 85 kilometres north of the island of Borkum. The planned capacities are around 980 and 630 megawatts. Subject to the final investment decision, construction is scheduled to begin in 2026, with full commissioning planned for 2028.

With a total installed capacity of 1.6 gigawatts, the Nordlicht wind project is the largest offshore wind farm project realised by Vattenfall to date.
