Flick Gocke Schaumburg appoints three Partners and 15 Associated Partners from its own ranks

With effect of 1 January 2019, Flick Gocke Schaumburg has appointed three Partners and 15 Associated Partners from among its own ranks.

Corporate lawyers Dr Christoph Bode and Dr Christian Brünkmans as well as tax lawyer Dr Christian Pitzal have joined the equity partnership. Mathias Bülow, Dr Philipp Diffring, Matthias Full, Dr Michael Grimm, Christian Groth, Dr Rudolf Hübner, Dr Leonid Korezkij, Dr Matthias Korff, Dr Bastian Liegmann, Alexander Löschhorn, Dr Andrea Prinz, Dr Arne Schmidt, Henning Stümpfig, Stefan Thilo and Dr Tim Zinowsky were appointed Associated Partners. Dr Phillip Rottke was appointed Managing Director of Flick Gocke Schaumburg GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft.

Flick Gocke Schaumburg now counts 66 Equity Partners and 68 Associated Partners in Berlin, Bonn, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich.

Dr Christoph Bode (41) specializes in corporate law, litigation and arbitration. He advises on compliance and corporate governance issues, in particular in family businesses, as well as on reorganizations of corporate groups. A further focus of his practice is advice to supervisory boards. He has particular experience in handling shareholder disputes and in the areas of directors' liability and D&O. Christoph Bode joined Flick Gocke Schaumburg in 2007 after spending time abroad at the German Chamber of Foreign Trade in Shanghai and became an Associated Partner in 2013; he works in Frankfurt and Munich.

Dr Christian Brünkmans, LL.M. (43) advises clients from the firm's offices in Düsseldorf and Bonn on restructuring and insolvency matters. His practice focuses on advising companies in the course of restructurings (out of court and insolvency proceedings) as well as on insolvency law, in particular with regard to complex rescission issues. In addition, he regularly advises on distressed M&A, and advises corporate bodies in times of crisis. Christian Brünkmans started working with an international law firm in 2007 and joined Flick Gocke Schaumburg in 2012, where he was appointed Associated Partner in 2014. Christian Brünkmans is co-editor of the "Handbuch Insolvenzplan" and the "Zeitschrift für das gesamte Insolvenzrecht (ZInsO)".

Dr Christian Pitzal (39) works as a lawyer and tax advisor in Hamburg and Berlin. The focus of his work is on the taxation of companies and groups (national and international), in particular with regard to conversion measures and restructurings. A further focus is tax advice related to and structuring of M&A and private equity transactions. He joined Flick Gocke Schaumburg in 2008 as a lawyer, has been a tax advisor since 2011 and was appointed Associated Partner in 2014. Christian Pitzal teaches as a guest lecturer at the Federal Finance Academy and is a lecturer for Corporate Tax Law at the University of Cologne.
