Flick Gocke Schaumburg advises Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland on the acquisition of Super RTL

Flick Gocke Schaumburg has advised Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland on the acquisition of the remaining shares in Super RTL from The Walt Disney Company. RTL Group – the parent of Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland – and The Walt Disney Company established Super RTL as a joint venture in 1995, with each currently holding 50 percent of the shares in Super RTL. Following the acquisition of the remaining shares, RTL Group will be the sole shareholder of Super RTL.

The acquisition rounds out Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland’s TV and streaming business in Germany. It is subject to approval by the Federal Cartel Office and the Austrian Federal Competition Authority.
