Flick Gocke Schaumburg has advised the Kaiserschild Foundation, founded by Dr. Hans Riegel, on the acquisition of the residential and commercial building CityGate in Siegburg, Germany, from the multi-family office for real estate assets DERECO, based in Cologne.

CityGate comprises around 4,280 square meters in a prominent location in the middle of the Siegburg pedestrian zone. Nearly 60% of the space is used for retail, and 40% for 17 apartments and an office unit. DERECO acquired CityGate in 2013 from the project developer Interboden as part of a forward deal for the portfolio of a Dutch family office.

The non-profit Kaiserschild Foundation supports young people in research and innovation, particularly in the scientific and technical fields. The foundation develops projects and implements them with their corresponding partners.

Advisers to Kaiserschild Foundation:
Flick Gocke Schaumburg (Bonn): Philipp Rulf, Michael Grimm (both corporate/M&A), Philipp Schweitzer (real estate, Frankfurt), Martin Cordes, Philipp Thiele (both tax)
