Global Mobility: Family foundations under German, Swiss, Austrian and Liechtenstein law

15.01.2024 | FGS Event

We are already looking forward to welcoming you to the fifth session of our event series “Global Mobility – A legal & tax journey for Private Clients” on 15 January 2024. Under this heading, we have designed a comprehensive series of topics that is particularly tailored to the needs and interests of family businesses and private clients.

In this section, we look at the topic of “family foundations”, which is often relevant in the context of cross-border relocation. Firstly, we will discuss the characteristics of the German family foundation under foundation and tax law on the basis of practical cases, and then examine the special features of the family foundation under Swiss, Austrian and Liechtenstein law.

Our speakers:

Judith Mehren is an expert in foundation law and the taxation of domestic foundations. One focus of her work is advising high-net-worth private clients on corporate and succession planning, in particular the establishment of a foundation, as well as providing ongoing advice to the foundation and its board members.

Dr Tanja Schienke-Ohletz advises clients on cross-border inheritance tax planning as well as on the cross-border relocation of high-net-worth private clients. In addition, she deals with the legal and tax aspects of domestic and foreign family foundations and estates, such as the Anglo-American trust from a German perspective.

The event takes place from 18:00-19:00.

You may register for the session under this link.
