Flick Gocke Schaumburg is set to open an office in Düsseldorf. A team of tax lawyers and corporate lawyers will start business in the capital of North-Rhine Westphalia at the beginning of 2018. The new office will be working particularly closely with the firm’s head office in Bonn.

For the fourth time in the history of the awards by German legal publisher JUVE, the firm has been honored for particularly strong development in succession and private wealth. Flick Gocke Schaumburg already won the title in this category in 2006, 2010 and 2014 – outstripping the overall performance of any other law firm.

Flick Gocke Schaumburg is strengthening its focus on the energy sector with the arrival of three new associated partners. Dr. Christoph Sieberg, Dr. Thilo Richter and Dr. Margret Schellberg are to join the firm from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in January 2017. They are all specialists in energy and public commercial law.

Flick Gocke Schaumburg has appointed four equity partners and nine associated partners from its own ranks as of January 1, 2017. This brings the total number of equity partners to 57 and associated partners to 58 from the beginning of next year.

Flick Gocke Schaumburg is expanding its private equity/venture capital practice in Munich with two new partners. Christian Schatz (42) and Dr. Martin Brockhausen (39) are renowned experts in fund structuring. They are joining the firm from King & Wood Mallesons, where they have many years of experience in advising company founders and investors on private equity, venture capital, infrastructure, debt, and real estate.
