Flick Gocke Schaumburg has provided tax and corporate-law advice to the founders of the tax platform Steuerbot, which is being acquired by its competitor Taxfix.

“The acquisition of Steuerbot brings together the two strongest and most popular mobile tax solutions among customers under one roof,” states Martin Ott, CEO of Taxfix.

Both companies will continue to offer their products independently and complementarily. Steuerbot founders Jochen Schöllig and Marc Neumann will continue to run the start-up as an independent subsidiary of Taxfix in order to stimulate further growth.

Advisors to Steuerbot: Flick Gocke Schaumburg

Dr. Florian Kutt (project lead; tax law/venture capital); associates: Larissa Rickli, Paul Volkwein (both tax law/venture capital) and Justus Bode (corporate law/venture capital)

Steuerbot was founded in Stuttgart in 2017 and currently employs 18 people. The Steuerbot app supports users with preparing and filing tax returns by identifying all relevant information with the help of a chatbot that asks easy-to-understand, individually tailored questions.

Taxfix, Europe’s leading mobile tax platform, is acquiring Steuerbot from the Haufe Group. Through the merger, Taxfix, which was founded in Berlin in 2016 and currently employs around 500 people, aims to build on its market-leading position and accelerate the growth of both companies in the long term. <<<
