Flick Gocke Schaumburg advised DMC Production on the acquisition of Plazamedia and RT1.TV

Flick Gocke Schaumburg has advised DMC Production, a pan‑European media production company, on the acquisition of two leading German production companies: Plazamedia GmbH and RT1.TV mobile.production GmbH.

Plazamedia was acquired from Sport1 Medien AG, while RT1.TV mobile.production was acquired from Augsburger Zeitung.

The advisory services on both transactions included tax advice on the SPA and, for Plazamedia, also the tax due diligence.

Post-acquisition, both firms will be merged and relaunched as DMC Production Germany, offering capabilities in live arena production, master control (MCR), playout, studio, post-production, storage, satellite newsgathering, streaming and IP distribution.

DMC Production is a fast-growing media-technology and production service provider with a focus on remote productions, live broadcast, streaming, and next-gen studio workflows. DMC is owned by Coral Tree, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm, Stena Adactum, the investment arm of the Stena Sphere, one of Sweden’s most prominent family-owned business groups, and the company’s management.

Plazamedia, a Sport1 Medien GmbH subsidiary based in Ismaning near Munich, is a full-service content provider with nearly 50 years’ of market experience.

RT1.TV mobile.production, part of the rt1.media group, delivers high-end arena live productions – from football and horse racing to entertainment productions. <<<
