Advisors to the group of shareholders: Flick Gocke Schaumburg

Dr. Manfred Reich, Dr. Matthias Heusel (tax/M&A, project co-leads), Dr. Florian Haus (antitrust law), Dr. Torsten Engers (tax); Dr. Barbara-Fleckenstein-Weiland (value-added tax); Dr. Torsten Kohl (financial); associates: Marcel Bühner (M&A), Sara Lütkestratkötter, (M&A/tax), Valentin Urban (antitrust law)

Flick Gocke Schaumburg is a long-standing strategy advisor to a group of shareholders on structural matters and has now comprehensively advised them on structuring and negotiating the transaction documents.

The Reederei Jaegers Group, based in Duisburg, is among Europe’s leading inland shipping operators, specializing in transporting liquid bulk goods on the continent’s inland waterways. The transaction will see 57 inland vessels transferred to the Sogestran Group. The petrochemical gases (LPG) division is not part of the acquisition, and will be continued by the shareholders in the long term.

The Sogestran Group is also a market leader among European inland shipping operators and states that the transaction – with over 200 units (self-propelled barges, push boats and barges), and more than 500 crew members – will make it the leading operator for the transport of liquid bulk goods on inland waterways in Europe. <<<
