We hope you can join us for the twelfth session of our event series “Global mobility – A legal & tax journey for private clients” on 9 September 2024. This comprehensive series is particularly tailored to the needs and interests of family-owned businesses and private clients.
We will explore current tax reforms in the UK, using a cross-border case to highlight present-day issues.
In July this year, the Labour party was voted into government with a sweeping majority. However, even prior to the election, the former Conservative government had announced various plans for reform ahead of the election which included the abolition of the remittance basis as an alternative tax treatment for individuals who are resident but not domiciled in the UK, while having foreign income and gains.
In July, the new Labour government announced that they would implement these plans in April 2025. We will examine the overhauls using a case study.
The event will be held in English.
