During this event, we will provide an overview of the legal and tax landscape in Switzerland.  We will also explore the tax implications of relocating to Switzerland, using practical examples, and examine the topic from both German and Swiss perspectives.  

Our speakers:

Dr. Jochen Kotzenberg LL.M. (Vanderbilt), is a partner at Flick Gocke Schaumburg. He advises clients on group, corporate, and international tax law, with a particular focus on assisting family-owned businesses and their shareholders in estate and asset succession planning. Further, he is a lecturer at the University of Zurich (LL.M. in International Taxation).

Dr. Ruth Bloch-Riemer, lawyer and qualified tax expert, is a partner at Bär & Karrer. She advises Swiss and foreign high-net-worth individuals, families, entrepreneurs and family offices on all tax, pension and social security matters. She provides strategic advice to clients on developing, supporting, and achieving their structural goals, particularly regarding transition phases in companies, personal circumstances, or generational transitions. Her expertise includes wealth and succession planning, residence planning, structuring entrepreneurial and charitable activities, and addressing art-related matters. She also leads project teams tailored to these needs. Ruth supports clients not only in the context of compliance work and in non-contentious proceedings, but also in the context of legal disputes before Swiss administrative and judicial authorities. In addition. she regularly publishes legal texts and lectures at the University of Zurich (LLM in International Tax Law). She also enjoys sharing her expertise and experience with charitable foundations, serving as a long-standing member of the board of trustees and contributing to significant restructuring projects.

Dr. Daniel Leu, M.Jur. (Oxford), a member of the Swiss Bar Association (SAV), is a certified inheritance law specialist. He is a partner and co-head of the Private Clients team at Bär & Karrer in Zurich. He advises entrepreneurs, private clients, family offices, foundations and trustees in connection with estate and asset planning, matrimonial property regimes, foundation law and art law. Daniel represents heirs, executors of wills, foundations and trustees in inheritance, trust and foundation law disputes. He also regularly acts as an executor of wills, and lectures at the University of Münster (Inheritance Law and Business Succession postgraduate course).
