We hope you can join us for the next session of our event series ‘Global Mobility – A legal & tax journey for private clients’ on 10 March 2025. This comprehensive series is particularly tailored to the needs and interests of family-owned businesses and private clients.
In this session we'll be examining the factors involved when relocating to Greece. Greece is gaining attention as an exceptionally attractive tax regime, particularly for new incomers. This is reflected in migration statistics, showing a notable influx of high-net-worth individuals. This is not without good cause, as we shall see on 10 March. In particular, Greece has followed on from other southern European countries by introducing an attractive special tax regime specifically for new residents. What we're seeing is that while Germany explores ways of slowing emigration, other countries are focusing more on attracting new people. In this discussion, we will cover all key aspects of the Greek tax system relevant to high-net-worth individuals; triggering tax liability, flat-rate taxation, the taxation of key asset classes under the regular system, inheritance and gift tax, and the treatment of existing foundations. We will also analyze typical relocation strategies and structures.
