Study of law and politics in Cologne (1956 Dr. iur.).
1972 Co-founder of the firm.
1961 - 1991 Federation of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (Deutscher Industrie- und Handelstag); last position: head of the Federation’s finance and tax division and deputy executive director.
Involvement in drafting legislative proposals in relation to the General Fiscal Code (Abgabenordnung) and the Foreign Tax Act (Außensteuergesetz).
Founder of the journals “Deutsches Steuerrecht” (DStR) (German Tax Law Review) and “Internationales Steuerrecht” (IStR) (International Tax Law Review).
Member of the International Fiscal Association.
